About the doctor
Professor Jan Lubiński, MD, PhD, DSc, is an expert in clinical cancer genetics and pathology.
Head of the Department of Oncology and the Department of Genetics and Pathomorphology at Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. A pioneer in research on hereditary cancer, especially breast and ovarian cancer linked to BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations.
His scientific work has advanced cancer prevention in Poland and worldwide. In 1999–2001 he implemented the world’s first population-wide genetic-oncology prevention programme.
Over 1,100 published papers; for many years the highest citation count worldwide among Polish oncogeneticists
Over 25 granted and implemented patents
Founder and editor of the journal Hereditary Cancer in Clinical Practice
